Our devices are designed by thousands of engineers whose job is to capture and hold our attention. Fighting against this isn't weakness—it's wisdom.

Start with audit. Track your screen time for a week without judgment. Awareness precedes change. You might be surprised where your hours go.

Create friction for mindless use. Remove social apps from your phone. Log out of time-wasting sites. Small barriers break automatic behaviors.

Designate device-free zones and times. Meals, bedrooms, first hour of the day—whatever works for you. Your brain needs spaces where it's not being stimulated.

Replace, don't just remove. If you cut scrolling, what will you do instead? Have alternatives ready. A book by your bed. A sketchpad in your bag.

Remember: technology is a tool. Use it intentionally for what it does well, then put it down.
